MP1 Self Evaluation
For the computer project portion of the self evaluation for MP1, I chose my Peter Max themed artwork. I chose this particular image because of how well it stands out from all my other works, and because of how much is actually happening in the piece. This picture was also chosen because I have a big interest in psychedelic art. I learned a lot about radial symmetry and how I could use its potential in this piece, while using as many crazy patterns and colors as I could find to make it pop. I like this piece mostly because of how intense and radiant it is when you look at it.
For this picture I also made sure that I put as many patterns and geometric shapes radiating from the 'sun' as i could, while also using opposites of colors in the gradients and the patterns that laid upon them. I also added a pop art image of John Lennon at the bottom with my own little rendition on the colors within his face. Yet, I found it difficult to trace his face and be able to put in these colors, along with the difficulty of putting all of the patterns into the individual 'rays'. This piece describes me because when i picture imagination at work it looks a little something like this. It also reflects my love for the radiance of psychedelia.

MP2 Self Evaluation
This marking period, we worked on making our own renditions of Romare Bearden's style of art. This project was extremely fun because I got to discover how to back certain shapes and use different colors to highlight the shapes. I really enjoyed getting the pieces and posters from the 60's to put in the background which helped relate to the anti-war theme.
The most difficult portion of this piece was having to trace the guitar which the hippie is playing, and having to mess around with the size of the police officer's head and body. My own personal touch is the patterns found on the hippie's clothes and the officer's uniform. I chose to make this piece because I like how in all the confusion and chaos of the war, you can always find that little bit of positivity. This relates to me mostly because of my love for music and the guitar, and how I love to entertain others to spread positivity.
